Default eggbound female??this sounds stupid

i have a female danio i am afraid is gonna blow up.she is full of eggs and just wobbles as she swims..it hurts to look at her, and brings back memories of being a few weeks over due when i was pregnant with valerie..i know i ahve a male in there since i had babies off the bunch, plus the babies they have were added in with them.
they are in a 55 gallon.ph 7.5 temp around 72-74.

thought they would just lay the eggs when they wanted too??will she blow up?

gonna see if i can get a pic of her.

How long has she been like that?

My female Danios get huge. I have sen them stay that way for days. Plus they tend to eat more then the males in my experience. I feed less when I see the multiple females in this condition. I have not seen any fry .

i noticed it this week, so a few days.i have 3 females that get big, but none this big.she really loks like she is about to explode.
i dont expect to find fry, i figure everyone will eat them as they wriggle, but i would think the female would lay no matter what.unless she is eatting my grass shrimp when im not watching...idk..took some pics, gotta figure out how to get them on here

A few days is normal. You say she is huge. If she is any bigger then how big mine get I would be shocked. Hopefully she is not eggbound. Time will tell. I would a search online to see what you can do in case she is having problems.

Just be careful that it isn't something like dropsy, which can make the fish look very bloated and pregnant-like. The tell-tale sign would be the scales sticking out. Hopefully this is not the case.

I have a friend who breeds bows that this happend to. She got on the web to her buds & they told her seperate the fish from others, but keep a male with her so to allow her the chance to spawn, & to add aquarum salt to the water. If I remember right they told her it could be one of 2 things. Egg bound or constapation (I don't think I spelled that right) & that the salt would help both. She ended up loosing the fish cuz before she got on the internet to ask her buds (a bunch of fish geeks) she squeezed the fish trying to get the eggs out of her as this was a very rare rainbow. I think if you do a web search for egg bound tropical fish you'll get alot of info on what to do to help her. I wish you luck with her & hope she makes it.
