Default Cory vanished

My peppered Cory just disappeared. I had five of them in one tank and now there is only four. I scoured the whole tank looking for him. He is gone. I did add a Pleco, would he kill Cories?? The Cory was in there before I added the Pleco. I did check the tank over good for body parts, but couldn't find anything. I also checked around the tank in case he jumped out. This is really strange.

Sorry about your Cory, especially having no idea what has happened to him/her. I have just had the same thing happen at the same time to 2 gouramis - and no evidence of any remains. All very strange

Oh Nancy...I wonder what could have happened? A dead Cory(maybe he died a narural death) would be a nice snack for other fish in the tank....

Hey Fairbs ...How are you? Are you saying that you've had TWO Gouramis disappear at the same time??? That does sound odd...what's in the tank with them???

I have a heavily planted tank and my cories disappear for weeks at a time... sometimes months... I'm not sure what set up you have, but is you have any plants - the bushier the better, the cories will sometimes slide up into the leaves and hang out there... mine get into the folds of the big huge amazon swords and stay there forever

Hopefully he might turn up - he may have been hiding somewhere very carefully.

Thanks for the replys everyone. I was sick for a few days and didn't get back here to check my post.

It is really strange how he just disappeared without a trace. I know he isn't hiding cause I checked every inch of the tank. I am assuming something killed him and made a lunch out of him. Not sure which fish in there would do that though. I know I am going to keep a very close count on the rest of my fish.

Thanks again!

That happened in the community tank at my work. One of the platy fish (one of two) died off within the past month and we never ever found it. The kids looked everywhere but we assume that the catfish probably made a meal out of it. Sad, but hey, nothing goes to waste in nature.
