Default plastic beads as gravel?

Hello all, I'm thinking of using plastic beads for a 5 gal betta tank I'm going to get because I saw them for sale at a pet store. However, I might buy the beads at walmart or something because the bag is bigger and cheaper. The beads looked like little cylinders.
Would it be okay to buy beads in the craft department, or should I just stick with regular gravel?

My only concern would be: are they real light and would they move around a lot if disturbed. May be even float??

I think I know what you're referring to, and I think they WILL float...If you are looking for colour, WalMart sells coloured gravel...
