Default Baby Diamond tetra!

When I was weeding back my masses of hornwort in my 75 gallon tank... I discovered a baby diamond tetra!

I am simply amazed. There may be more hiding back in the plants but this little guy is only as big as my thumbnail.

I don't know if this is an accomplishment or not, but I think its pretty darn cool! Aside from guppies, I've never had any fish reproduce for me, so YAY

Getting any Tetra fry to survive in a community tank is rare. Congratulations.

How wonderful. Diamond tetra are the tetra's I like the best. No matter what else is in my 120 I always keep 4 to 5 diamonds. I hope that it does well for you & that you find more that have just been hiding.

well shoot, I have now discovered that there are TWO babies. One is twice the size of the other... holy smokes

Note to self: loads and loads of hornwort makes excellent breeding grounds for diamond tetras!

will post pics this weekend (hopefully!)

Wow, thats awesome. I think the hardest part is getting a pair comfortable enough for them to reproduce. So excellent job!!! So I guess now you need to prepare yourself to raise tetras, how awesome. Good luck
