Default New betta!

Well, we picked up a new crowntail on Saturday along with some blackwater extract. He looks much the same as the last one did; very similar coloring. I'll try to get a picture once he settles in a bit more

Well betta # 2 is doing quite well! He's an aggressive sucker. He flares at his food pellets before he gobbles them. Every single one!

I love his face expression! He looks like he wants to beat something up really badly . Congratulations and i'm sorry about your previous loss.

thanks. Had I mastered the art of fish photography I would've had a great shot of him flaring at the camera. As it is it looks like a dark blob

Our other betta never built a bubble nest; and in two weeks this one already has. I began adding blackwater extract to the tank when he was introduced. Did that contribute? I've no idea but maybe.....

The picture looks great to me.....The extract won't hurt as long as you don't over do it(test ph).

What is blackwater extract? Does it help the betta be introduced to a new tank?

It makes the water conditions more like the betta's natural enviornment. It slighty tints the water. One teaspoon per 5 gallons, every water change.

Basically it has similar affect as Indian Almond Leaf, which is exactly what it sounds like and is available online. For me blackwater extract is easier to find
