Default filters when cycled?

hi,
could someone tell me when your tank is all cycled
when do you clean the filter???
also how??
i know you clean it in tank water but do you do this till sponge is clean?
and how often?
sorry if these are dumb questions (but dano you did want some )
thanks for any help here

Clean the sponge once a month like you have been doing or when it is clogged and restricting the water flow.....Just rinse and squeeze it enough to remove solid particles......You can take the filter off the tank occasionally and clean it with a brush and garden hose, but make sure the sponge stays in tank water while you do it.
