Question clueless

ammonia less then .5 parts per million
nitrate safe
nitrite caution
soft water
safe amounts of chlorine
alkalinity is ideal
pH is neutral
tempature is 71
hasn't cycled yet
30 gallon
5 new tiger barbs and 2 new kuli loaches, no janitors yet
no water changes

I just bought 1tiger barb and 2 albino ones. I took them home. accimilated them to the tank, and released them. after 2-3 hours, I went to check on them. The new tiger barb was having problem swimming, seeming only to be able to roll over, I quickly quarintined it. After about 24 hours, it was dead. anyone know what could have caused it? I trust the supplier and my dad has bought 20 fish (4 angels 5 congos, a pleco and 10 neons) from her with no problem. From what I have read on diseases, the only thing I can think of is a swim bladder disorder, but have excluded all the couses. please help.

You said the tank wasn't cycled, but you added fish.
Any ammonia level is bad.
Any nitrite is bad.
Nitrate at any level is undesirable, but under 20 is reasonable.
No amount of chlorine is safe.
What is the DH and KH at your supposed ideal alkalinity level?
A temperature of 75 to 80*F should be maintained for tropical fish.

Many things could have caused the fish to die. More than likely it was stressed when put into the uncycled cold tank and further stressed from being suddenly put into yet another tank.

There are many articles on this forum and the Internet on tank cycling and general fish care. Please read them. Work on getting your tank cycled. I don't know what kind of test kits you have, but a full set of the liquid type would be a good idea.

nitrite and ammonia is a bad combo for any fish

i say cycle the tank and learn from your mistakes
i have done that a few times myself when i first started with aquariums
so your not alone

i see you have other tanks
use the media from the other tanks to have an instant cycle.
i have always done that way whenever starting a new tank

but if it is a result of the tank not cycleing, why hasnt it happened to the other 5 tiger barbs in the tank?
