20 Neons = 20 inches
10 glowlights = at least 10 inches (not sure if these are the ones that exceed an inch long
5 black phantoms = at least 5 inches
6 cories = a minimum of 12 inches.
in a 20 gallon tank = tank is too small and would be overstocked with this many fish.

20+10=30+5=35+12= 47

so following the math you would need a 47 gallon or larger tank. My math may be off as I estimated fish size and I know the neons I have are closer to two inches long. You can sometimes get away with a little overstocking if you really watch your water quality, but it is not adviseable. I think we all have overstocked a tank once in a while (like taking adults out of one tank and putting in another to keep fry from being eaten).

The tank itself looks great, I would just hope you change how many fish you choose to stock in your 20 gallon tank.

I agree with Dave here 100%. It's difficult to choose what to put in a 20 gallon, but maybe an angelfish would be good? with some cories? you can maybe even put the 6 you wanted in there, or maybe more like 4-5. If you want schooling fish then you should either get a bigger tank or less types and less fish of the types. Your tank looks very nice though, great job.

My twenty gallon has seven mature guppies, and fry at different stages; eight neon tetras (started with nine and last month lost one), one ghost shrimp, numerous red cherry shrimp, malaysian trumpet snails and pond snails (the pond snails hitchiked on a plant), and plants.

I take the juvenile guppies that are a little over a month old and have colored up to the pet store to try to avoid over stocking the tank.

This tank of mine I was going to set up with shrimp, but the wife wanted guppies (so I got a few) and I thought neons would add color.

Hope this helps you with your ideas.

6 is suppose to be the minimum amount of cories. and I have 5 neons that are moving into the 20 gallon. so there is a minimum of 11 fish.

Really? I have 3 in my 10 gallon right now, and they're doing brilliant. I'm planning on adding 2 more quite soon though. As i said though 20 gallons are hard because you want to add a lot but you are not really allowed to. Do you know what I'm saying?
